I’d say leaving the hospital with my newborn son and wife takes the cake for proudest moment this year, and thus far in this life.
What do you do for a living?
I do food things, various food things like private catering by night, and large institution food by day, but mostly ‘my living’ is glued together by a slew of community projects in sustaining the culinary community’s workers’ well-being in B.C.
What do you do for fun?
I absolutely love to get into the woods or out on the ocean for adventures in the beautiful province we live in.
What’s the most important thing you do daily when you wake up?
The most important thing in my mornings right now is the sound of our new son’s breath and the hopes of maybe getting my parenting team partner a break in her wake-up routine.
Why is Movember important to you?
Movember feels more and more important every year, not because of the old pains from friends lost but the new hope found in the friends sustained.

Abraham Lincoln, Anthony Bourdain and Mariah Carey at the same time *gets himself a bowl of popcorn*

A quote on reflection from a good pal, whose mother was a councillor: “Go inwards, go upwards, go outwards.”
What have you done this year to improve your mental health?
This year my mental health has benefitted massively from some time spent with my amazing mother, who supports my millions of questions on how to parent a tiny human into a young man and hopefully a kind-hearted adult.
